Israel Tour Day Four

Day four of our trip started off by going to the River Jordan at the spot where many believe that Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. What a joy to experience getting baptized and baptizing in the Jordan! Unforgettable. We then drove to Cana to visit the place where Jesus performed his first miracle of turning water into wine. Then to Nazareth to a mock up village to see how it may have looked at the time of Jesus. We visited the Church of the Annunciation, the supposed place where the angel Gabriel announced the birth of Messiah to Mary. Short drive to Beit Shean and visited the beautiful excavations and Roman theater. Simply amazing architecture. We ended the day on the Mount of Olives overloooking Jerusalem just as the sun was going down. What an amazing day this was! Make plans to come with me maybe next year or two. Check out the pics on the slideshow.

What an amazing day you guys experienced! I felt like I was there too looking at all the slide show pictures.

Was that language latin that was on the bulding in picture 61?

How about Noemi...Did she ride that camel in picture 120? :)

Loved the short video clip in that beautiful church. I'm so glad you guys got the opportunity to go to the Holy Land. Are you really planning another trip? I'd love to save early and plan to go along. My husband was so worried it would be unsafe. Nothing about your trip looked unsafe at all.

My husband LOVES fresh fruit. I am going to show him picture 70 :) Me? Picture 120 all the way!!! :)

Yes, that's Latin in picture 61. A couple that was in our group (17) did indeed ride the camel but Noemi couldn't be convinced. The rest of us didn't have time but it will be on my agenda for next trip.

There was never anything unsafe at all. We felt completely safe. There were plenty of Israeli soldiers (both guys and gals) armed walking around everywhere we went. Plus there were plenty of tour buses. One of the best things was that our tour guide was able to get us to the sites often before the crowd of other tourists got there so it was pretty nice.
While there I drank plenty of freshly squeezed orange juice and also had some freshly squeezed pomegranate juice. Can't go wrong with fresh fruit. I must say however that the food overall was pretty bland in comparison to Mexican, Vietnamese, Chinese and such.
Plan to start saving now for next trip.

I just showed the slideshow to my husband (I doubled clicked to make them big). I liked them and thought the trip looked interesting. I told him it was absolutely safe. I hope I can go next trip :)

Hey Pastor,
I love the new Missions page. Great addition to the church website.
